Ruggapalooza – 2011
The STH rugby team hosted the second annual Ruggapalooza at Granger Stadium on Saturday (Jan. 22). This annual event brings together local high school rugby teams in a controlled scrimmage environment.
Joining the Eagles were Strake Jesuit, Tomball High School, and Memorial High School. “It is a great opportunity for units to evaluate their talent and watch combinations against someone other than their own team,” said STH head coach James Wolfinger. “We feel it is the best way to prepare for the upcoming season, mainly because coaches can stop the action at any time and work with their players on technique. It is a real teaching opportunity, especially for your younger players,” stated Wolfinger.
STH played well throughout the day, outscoring their opponents, and most importantly came through the scrimmage injury free. “We are very excited about our young talent The Eagles face their first challenge of the season when they travel to New Orleans on Saturday to play long-time rivals New Orleans Jesuit.
