USA Rugby Competition Management System Rollout

Please see the below notice from USA Rugby about the new Competition Management System Rollout. Please note that ALL teams will be required to use CMS this year. If you have questions or concerns about CMS, please contact admin@texasrugbyunion.com. Thank you!

usa_rugby_logoI wanted to reach out to everyone on this list to discuss the planned rollout of the USA Rugby Competition Management System (CMS). Some of your regions have utilized the previous version and have an understanding of how to get the teams in your region to cooperate, but some of you will be going through it for the first time. Also, there are a few changes to the system, so we want to work through the rollout with you.

We want to make sure you have an understanding of what we would be asking you to require the teams in your region to do with the CMS. It is really two primary responsibilities: 1)Entering their match rosters into the system prior to any league match and 2)Recording the match results (including score, who scored, subs and cards).

The benefits of the system are numerous, but the biggest is that from a registration and eligibility standpoint it is going to enable you to make sure the players for the teams in your region are properly registered. Additionally, league tables and schedules will be very easy for you or your teams to insert (iFrame) into your website. It will also track the player information and the cards to serve as central resource for all of the match data for league games that are part of the pathway to the National Championships.

We are in the process of building the competition schedules within each of the competitive regions inside the CMS, as well as finalizing the login credentials for each team.

We have a few training materials that we will be distributing to you as well, but the system is pretty intuitive so that training required is not significant.

We will provide the list of login credentials for the teams in your region to your point person and have them review the schedules within the system for accuracy, and then they could work with the individual competition coordinators on distributing them to the teams and verifying utilization on an ongoing basis.
