Proposed Bylaws for Review (2014)

Texas Rugby UnionTexas Rugby UnionAt a Senior Club informal meeting earlier this year some member clubs called for a review and update of the current TRU Bylaws. Otis Parker, Doug Corrigan and Luke Turner worked with the current member clubs to draft and send proposed changes to the TRU Board. These changes were reviewed by the TRU Board and have been approved for posting and review.

These bylaws were previously reviewed at the 2014 TRU AGM Winter/Spring meeting. Thus the review period will be for ten days and then online voting will commence. Collection and certification of votes will be done by Luke Turner, D2 Men’s Rep and Wendy Young, TRU Admin. More details about the online voting process and member clubs in good standing and who are eligible to vote will be posted after the review period.

NOTE: Per the current Bylaws 2/3 of the eligible member clubs must vote and it must be at least a 50% approval to pass.

Please submit any questions or concerns about the bylaws or about any eligible/ineligible Clubs before the review period passes to your TRU Divisional Representative.

**UPDATE 06.25.14 from Men’s D1 Rep Doug Corrigan:

The proposed amendment(s) to remove the TRRA Chair and Independent Organization Rep to become “non-voting” members of the Board have been removed based upon the consensus on those issues resolved at the Winter AGM. If Members would like to revisit that or any other issue and/or proposed by-law amendments, they should ask that it be placed on the agenda and be in attendance and bring it to the attention of the Board and the Members for discussion.
