The Galveston Rugby Football Club is celebrating its 50th Anniversary Oct. 20-23 with a reunion of all past and current players and supporters.
The highlight will be a Gala Dinner at the Pelican Club on Saturday night, Oct. 21. The team — originally known as the UTMB-Galveston Rugby Football Club — was established in 1967 by a group of doctors from rugby playing countries who were working at the medical school.
The club is one of the two original teams in Texas, along with the Austin Rugby Club.
