TRU real time updates and status during COVID-19

The current nature of COVID-19 is an ever-changing situation in the Texas Rugby Union. Please refer to this page for the most up to date information and resources as the situation continues to unfold. Understand that the TRU Return to Play Task Force is monitoring the growing threat on a daily basis, while we keep in contact with USA Rugby and their connections to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and World Rugby.

COMPETITION MANDATE
All sanctioned competitive play is suspended for the foreseeable future, effective March 20, 2020.
RETURN TO PLAY STATUS
Stage 4+
The TRU has determined that we can move into a Stage 4+ of Return To Play for the entire union. As always, the TRU fully supports any members that choose not to increase their rugby activity at this time.
STAGE 4+ & MATCH/TOURNAMENT RTP PROCESS
The TRU Board has approved a process that would allow those clubs that are ready to participate in social matches or tournaments to do so. Clubs will have to meet certain requirements and be approved before being allowed to begin playing matches or in tournaments against other teams in the Union.

The Stage 4+ RTP “Checklist” has evolved once again (three times!) and we’re now using it to track clubs that are working or need to work their way through the waiver process. We have enough approved clubs now that most match adds are happening seamlessly without delay.
