The third annual Lost Afternoon Rugby Luncheon will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Marriott Westchase Hotel.
This year’s Keynote Speaker will be former Springbok great Rob Louw, who earned 19 caps for South Africa in the 1980s. Rob has a special connection to Houston, as it was the doctors at the world famous M.D. Anderson Cancer Center who most probably saved his life. After being diagnosed with with an advanced case of malignant melanoma in 2009, Rob flew immediately to Houston for aggressive T-cell therapy and he is now cancer free.
Today, Rob is a leading cancer awareness spokesman as well as a renowned surfer and avid golfer. He is the author of For The Love of Rugby, married and the father of two daughters, one of whom, Roxy, is almost as famous as her dad as a surfer and model.
You won’t want to miss this opportunity to hear a great rugby player share his life’s stories, both funny and poignant, at what is sure to be the best luncheon yet.
