Please note that the TRU Board of Directors and the respective Division Secretary’s will be having a meeting to discuss both the 2012-2013 season AND the 2013-2014 season.
The meeting is tentatively scheduled for Saturday (6/9) and Sunday (6/10) in Waco, TX. Location to be confirmed.
This action is necessary for two reasons (1) ongoing changes from USA Rugby as it relates to competitive silos and conferences (High School, Collegiate, Seniors) and the TRU’s pilot status as a Geographic Union (2) there are various initiates coming down from USA Rugby that will be increasing the number of minimum games that our competitions will be required to play as “competitive league” matches.
The net effect of the second item is that we will either need to increase the number of teams in our D1 and D2 competition within Texas or we will have to schedule league matches with other regional teams (Colorado, Missouri, Etc) in order meet the minimum guidelines that will be put into effect for 2013-2014.
We ask all Club leaders to reach out to your respective leaders to discuss the upcoming changes and possible impact across the entire Union. The Board had a call this evening (WED May 16th) so all TRU representatives should be able to have meaningful discussions on these changes.
