Rugby clinic for underrepresented youth – May 4-5, 2013 in Arlington, TX

The TRU received the below email in regards to a Youth Rugby Clinic in Arlington, TX on May 4-5, 2013 in Arlington, TX. If interested in helping with the tournament, contact Loren (email contact is below).

I am a current Texas rugby member and have been involved with youth rugby in the state of Arizona & New Mexico for several years. I have worked with underrepresented, at risk areas and community based programs. I am a non traditional student and currently work for the city parks and recreation. I (and others) want to help grow youth rugby in the southern DFW areas by holding a youth rugby clinic.

If you area familiar with the Hype Park Charter school program in New York city for troubled youth, my project stems from the same reasoning, develop youth through rugby. Our motto is GiveRugbyATry.com.

The date of the boys and girls clinic is May 4, in the Arlington area. May 5 will be an opportunity to further expose women’s rugby and other specialty activities.

This is a not for profit event, no money has been raised nor will money be requested from participants by our clinic.
We are looking for USA RUGBY certified volunteers, both men and women, as we hope attract more women to rugby.

If you or any one you know may be willing to assist , please forward to me.

Thank you.

Mr. Loren Broussard
