Dear Coaches,
I am contacting you on behalf of the Dallas based Elite 7’s team that will compete in the Elite 7’s tournament in Houston on June 6 and 7, 2014 alongside the USA vs. Scotland 15’s match. This is a new competition created by USA Rugby/Olympic Competitions Committee this year to develop a pathway to the USA Olympic and National team. We would like to solicit your input for player nomination purposes. In order to be selected, players must be able to commit to the 3 dates below and meet USA Olympic eligibility requirements (Must have a current US Passport or can provided proof that the player will have one by the Pan Am Games- July 2015 – Please direct any questions about eligibility requirements to Gregg Jarvis)
1. Attend one of two scheduled Tryout Camps: These camps will consist of 3 elements: Fitness testing, Skills Assessment, and Scrimmage Assessment (decision making).
- Saturday, May 10, 2014 – Dallas, TX from 10am – 5pm Location TBA
- Sunday, May 11, 2014 – Kansas City, MO from 10am – 5pm – Location TBA
2. 2 Day 7’s Team Camp on 5/24 – 5/25 (location TBA) – Final Team selections
3. Friday – Saturday, June 6 and 7, Houston, TX (Players will be expected to arrive in Houston on TBA)
