The TRU/RRRC Women’s Committee is proud to announce the formation of a Texas Women’s Select All Star Program for 2014-2015! We feel strongly that local competition combined with Select Side play is one of the ways the level of competition in women’s rugby will increase in Texas. In the past, USA Rugby provided a Select Side All-Star Tournament for 15s (and 7s), unfortunately that has been removed, but we can keep it alive!
Originally the Select program was going to be played in Fall 2014, due to time constraints we’ve moved it to be tryouts in late 2014 and a match against a visiting opponent in early 2014. The Select Team will be open to all Women’s Club players in good standing in the Texas GU. More details on tryouts and the program to be posted soon!
WANTED: Head Coach, Assistant Coaches (2), Manager & Trainer
The TRU/RRRC Women’s Subcommitee is officially accepting applications for a Select Head Coach, Assistant Coaches (2), Manager and Trainer. We feel that having a strong coaching staff will be ideal and help develop the Coaches and Managers as they work together. Please send nominations with resume and short summary (less than 250 words) to Wendy Young, RRRC Women’s Rep at admin@texasrugbyunion.com; Note that the nomination window closes Nov 1, 2014.
