Clinic Description

All contact teams require an active Level 200 Coach to be in compliance with USA Rugby.
The Level 200 Coach Certification consists of online pre-course work and attendance at an in-person clinic. The course structure helps to blend the “how to coach” theory with the practical implementation of coaching Rugby.

The Level 200 Coach Certification focuses on player welfare and teaching players the technical skills to play safely. The assessment requires coaches to demonstrate effective coaching techniques. These techniques include teaching through games, technical skill development through progressions and collaborative coaching.

FAQ

How Do I Register?
In the past, club administrators may have registered coaches for their club. Coaches are urged to complete registration themselves as the process requires both a social security number and completion of certification requirements. To register click here and select to “create/renew” membership.

What Will be Expected of Coaches?
All Coaches will need to be certified in the new program. The minimum USA Rugby coach certification requirement will entail the completion of the Level 100 Coaching Course and the Player Protection Package. These courses will be provided online at no additional cost and concentrate on familiarizing coaches with the game and essential ethical issues including player safety and abuse. For More information click here.

Are Coaches Still Eligible to Dual Role?
Yes. For members to register multiple roles with USA Rugby (coach and player for example), it will be necessary to complete the Dual Role request. This form can be filled out electronically. To locate the form, go to ourmembership forms page. The very last link on the top of the page is entitled “dual role registration” form. Be sure to fill out every field accurately. A member from our membership department will reach out to you if there is a price increase involved with your registration.
