Team Conduct Data Results

irb-valuesLast year it was proposed that the TRU begin tracking general team conduct in our continuing effort to embrace our rugby values. Starting in October of 2015, we ran this program as a beta. The entries were reported by the TRRA referees via the match report form. In all, there were 1,124 reports (includes TRU Clubs, College and Youth) and from that data we were able to calculate each team’s performance.

The reporting scale was via the normal match report and was submitted by the match referee. It includes four choices, where teams were rated:

  • Absolutely no issues, exemplary behavior
  • No serious issues
  • Minor issues, nothing specific to report
  • At least one major issue, disciplinary report will be filed

Overall it is a positive outlook for the TRU as 88% of the teams are considered above average. Only 12% of the clubs came in with a low rating and we’re sure they will look to improve on that rating next season.

We will be sending out a full summary to the Club Presidents but have provided a quick look below. Note for ease that we combined the teams with multiple sides into one and their results will be included in the highest division they participated in.

Men’s D1

The Griffins came out on top with a score of 93%, while the Austin Huns were next at 92.5% and the Austin Blacks followed up at 92%.

Women’s D1

The women were a much tighter race with four teams coming in at a perfect 100%, HARC, Dallas Harlequins, Griffins and Oklahoma.

Men’s D2

D2 is also an interesting story and was quite tight! The Woodlands took the top spot with 92% and were followed up by Katy Lions at 91.75% and DARC at 92.25%.

Men’s D3

Another close race as most teams were separated by just a few hundredths of a point. Euless takes the top spot at 94.5%. Second goes to Denton at 93.75% and third is Grand Prairie at 92.25%.

SWWC Collegiate

Congratulations ladies as you are all at 100%! SWWC teams are Texas A&M, Texas Tech and the University of Texas.
