Going into the last TOLA 7s tournament of the series (Riverboat 7s brought to you by Horseshoe Casino) in Shreveport (Aug. 12), the men’s standings are down to either the Huns or Reds for the title. Any number of teams have the opportunity to take second and third in the series, including Lone Star, HURT, Wichita, Woodlands, Tulsa, OU and the Austin Blacks.
In the women’s standings, both the DARC Dames and Lady Quins have the opportunity to tie the Valkyries with a tournament win, if the Valks don’t participate in the Shreveport tournament. However, the Valks can win just by showing up (all teams get 1 point for participation in each tournament). This would leave a pitched battle between the two Dallas clubs for second place.
Shreveport RFC always puts on a great tournament and even better pub crawl, so I would encourage you all to sign up for the tournament ASAP, and close out the 7s season with a bang.
