The first ever TRU Championships took place over the weekend in Keller, TX. Five trophies were given out, read on for all the details!
Men’s D4
Cup Championship
Fort Worth II defeated HARC II 25-22 in a very tight affair. The match came down to a penalty kick by Fort Worth II to seal their win.
Plate Championship
Denton faced off against Corpus Christi Dogfish and won the plate for their efforts.
Shield Championship
Corpus Christi made the long trip up to Keller and were rewarded the Shield for their efforts against Denton.
Bowl Championship
Alliance II’s opponent dropped out the week before Championships but they were able to field a motley opponent made up of players from Denton, Lost Souls, Diablos and Corpus Christi. They were awarded with the Bowl!
Women’s D3
Bay Area played an exhibition match against the Dallas Harlequins as there were no other D3 teams that have enough players for a 15s match. The Quins are a D1 team and Bay Area held their own, scoring 10 points to the Quins 33.
