Former USA Eagles great Paul Emerick will be a featured speaker at TRU Hall of Fame Banquet August 24 in Allen, Texas. The dinner and induction ceremony for the Class of 2019 is being held in conjunction with the annual TRU Summit which includes clinics for coaches and referees in addition to several important meetings of club representatives.
With the Rugby World Cup starting in September, Emerick will be able to share unique insights as to what it means to pull on a USA jersey and represent one’s country at the highest level. He may also share his impressions of this year’s USA roster and its chances in Japan, and may even handicap the contenders for the Webb Ellis Cup.
Emerick began his playing career while in college in his native Iowa before moving on to the Chicago Lions. His professional career included stops with top teams in Italy, Wales and England competing in the Heineken Cup. He was first selected to the Eagles in 2003 and he retired 2013.
The TRU Summit and Banquet will be held at the Marriott Dallas-Allen Courtyard Hotel. It is strongly suggested that you book rooms immediately as the TRU block will be released soon and the hotel will be full.
Ticket sales for the Hall of Fame Banquet will also close soon with no tickets available at the door. The cocktail party will begin at 6 p.m. with the dinner to follow. You can see the full list of honorees in the news section of the TRU website.
The banquet has grown each year since the founding of the Hall of Fame in 2016, and the fourth annual dinner promises to be the largest and best yet. Be there.
