With the 2019 Texas Rugby Union Women’s All Star Challenge only a little over two weeks away, the TRU Senior All Stars have been selected and announced today.
Led by Head Coach Luis Sanchez, the squad was chosen after three tryout events, video analysis, coach recommendation and scouting at events; eventually tailoring the final roster from 50 down to 28.
The squad has members from all three TRU women’s D1 clubs as well as representation from three of the six D2 clubs.
Live streams of the weekend matches will be available on the TRU Youtube channel and Facebook page, with competition kicking off at 10am CST on Saturday, December 7 at the Austin Huns Nixon Lane. Admission is free for those traveling and in attendance.
Along with the TRU All Star Challenge, the TRU is excited to announce that USA Rugby Women’s National Team Coach, Rob Cain will be in attendance. Along with scouting the players and competition on both days, he will be hosting two clinics for coaches and players on Thursday and Friday evening before the tournament kicks off.
