The TRU Board held a special meeting tonight to discuss the possibility of lifting COVID protocols. We’ve been watching the infection rates, vaccination rates and all the data is moving in the right direction for our Union. As a result the TRU Board has voted to lift all COVID protocols with the exception of the longstanding requirement around rosters. This requirement remains in place to ensure that players are properly registered, to track disciplinary issues or in case a need for COVID contact tracing arises. We recommend that COVID officers remain in place and help Club Administrators with the roster requirements.
The TRU is also recommending that all members get vaccinated so that we can help protect your rugby mates and the larger rugby community. In Texas, you are able to request a Mobile Vaccination Team to come to your practice, tournament or other events. Simply call 844-90-TEXAS (844-908-3927) and select Option 3 to schedule a visit from a state mobile vaccine team. To qualify for a visit, a business or civic organization must have 5 or more individuals who voluntarily choose to be vaccinated.
