2024 Mary Graham All Stars Rugby Tournament Returns to Dallas, TX

The 2024 Mary Graham All Stars Rugby Tournament is set to take place at the Grand Prairie Mountain Creek Soccer Complex on December 7-8. Hosted by Grand Prairie RFC, this marks the ninth edition of the tournament, bringing together elite women’s rugby players from across the country.

Defending Champions & New Contenders

The Midwest team will be returning as the defending champions, aiming for an impressive three-peat. Additionally, Southwest has been promoted to the Cup competition, adding even more excitement to the event. We are also expecting the return of formidable teams such as TRU Toast, South Panthers, Capital, and Mid-America.

We have already contacted the regions, including PNW, SoCal, NorCal, and Frontier, and have requested that they confirm their participation by September 15. We continue to extend an open invitation to these Unions or any others interested in joining this year’s competition. The tournament will feature three competitive tiers, with space for 12 dynamic teams. If only two tiers are filled, we will proceed with a Cup and Plate competition. However, if we can gather four more All Star teams, we will introduce a thrilling Bowl competition.

The tournament is structured to accommodate three competitive tiers. Each tier will engage in fierce competition, culminating in the crowning of a Cup, Plate, and Bowl winner. The top team will be awarded the prestigious Cup, while Plate and Bowl winners will earn promotion to the next tier. Meanwhile, the fourth place teams in the Cup and Plate brackets will face relegation.

Promoting Women in Rugby

Our commitment to fostering high-performance rugby players and All Star teams remains unwavering. We continue to emphasize the promotion of women in the sport, actively seeking female referees and commentators to further their development.

Nine Years of Excellence

After a thorough review of our history, we are proud to confirm that this will be our ninth event, not the eighth as previously thought. The Mary Graham All Stars continues to be a cornerstone in the development of high-performance women’s rugby, and this year promises to be as thrilling as ever.

About Mary Graham All Stars

The Mary Graham All Stars tournament showcases the top women rugby players in the U.S., featuring Geographic Union (GU) All Star teams from across the country. It serves as a key scouting event for the USA Rugby Eagles Women’s National Team. The tournament has evolved into more than just an annual rugby event; it is a platform for championing women in rugby. We continue to prioritize the development of female referees and commentators, playing a pivotal role in the growth of women’s rugby.

The Mary Graham All Stars was established in 2014 as the Texas Rugby Union (TRU) All Star Challenge, filling the void left by the National All Stars Competition (NASCs) in 2011. In 2021, the event was renamed to honor TRU Hall of Fame member Mary Graham, who founded the first U23 Texas Rugby Union All Star team in 2001.
