The Texas Rugby Union (TRU) is currently seeking hosts for all 2025 events, including:
- RRRC Championships – April 12
- RRRC 7s Series – Summer
- TOLA 7s Series – Summer
- Mary Graham All Stars – December 6-7
RRRC Championships: Our Union Championships showcase top-level competition across all men’s and women’s divisions. Last year’s event in Austin, TX, welcomed around 200 players, coaches, administrators, supporters, and fans. Teams alone booked about 75 hotel room nights, highlighting the positive economic impact of this tournament. While there were technical issues with the livestream last year, the event usually draws over 27,000 views, showing the growing interest in rugby both within the TRU and across the USA. To host, a minimum of one rugby field and a nearby warmup area are required.
Note: The XV Semifinals are not included in this hosting request, as higher-seeded teams will host those matches.
Gulf Coast Super Regionals: This event unites qualifying men’s and women’s teams from the Red River Rugby Conference and Southern Rugby Conference, including True South, Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida. Last year, teams booked approximately 50 hotel room nights, further demonstrating the economic boost of rugby events. The event also saw over 25,000 views on YouTube. Hosting requires two fields and is managed by the True South Rugby Conference this year, rotating back to the TRU next year.
7s Series: Our summer 7s Series—both competitive (RRRC) and social (TOLA)—brings together 30+ men’s and women’s teams to crown two Champions. The RRRC Series typically features three stops, and we are looking for hosts. TOLA tournament host applications are also open.
Mary Graham All Stars: This premier women’s All-Star event draws select teams from across the country to Texas. Similar to our other events, it generated around 50 hotel room nights and attracted over 15,000 views on YouTube. Hosting requires a minimum of one rugby field and a nearby warmup area.
Application Submission: Interested parties should submit applications by November 1, with hosts to be selected by November 15. Finalized hosts will be announced on the TRU website by December 1.
