Midwest Green Secures Third Straight Mary Graham All Stars Title, TRU Toast Takes Runner-Up

The 2024 Mary Graham All Stars delivered an incredible weekend of women’s rugby, showcasing elite talent and fierce competition. Hosted by Grand Prairie RFC at the Grand Prairie Mountain Creek Soccer Complex, the event highlighted the strength and passion of women’s rugby, even in the face of challenging weather conditions.

Saturday’s semi-final matchups set the tone for a thrilling weekend. In the Cup competition, Midwest Green proved why they are the defending champions with a commanding 47-7 win over Southwest, while TRU Toast battled their way to a 19-5 victory over USA Rugby South. The Plate competition saw Capital dominate Mid-America with a 41-0 shutout, and South Selects secured a dramatic 17-13 win over Midwest White with a last-minute try.

Heavy rain forced adjustments to Sunday’s schedule to preserve the fields. While the Plate Consolation and Cup Consolation matches were canceled, the Plate Final and Cup Final still brought thrilling rugby action to close out the weekend. In the Plate Final, Capital delivered another standout performance, defeating South Selects 45-7 to earn promotion to next year’s Cup bracket. The Cup Final saw Midwest Green continue their reign as champions, defeating TRU Toast 27-5 to claim their third consecutive Mary Graham All Stars title.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the players, coaches, referees, and volunteers who made this event possible. A special thanks to Grand Prairie RFC for hosting and to everyone who joined us via the live stream on the TRU YouTube Channel, powered by Nutmeg Sports Media.
