A Decade of Rugby: Mary Graham All Stars Marks 10th Anniversary

The Mary Graham All Stars returns to Grand Prairie, Texas on December 6-7, 2025, for its tenth anniversary. This premier women’s rugby event will once again feature some of the top All-Star teams in the country competing for the coveted Cup and Plate titles. After a rain-soaked 2024, organizers and players are looking forward to clear skies and a fast-paced weekend of rugby at the Grand Prairie Mountain Creek Soccer Complex.

The competition is a key scouting event for the USA Rugby Eagles Women’s National Team. In exciting news, USA Rugby High Performance will be in attendance thanks to the vital support and partnership of Women’s Elite Rugby (WER). Given that the WER Declaration period officially begins December 1, this tournament offers a truly unique and critical window for scouting top talent. WER’s commitment to high-performance pathways ensures that top scouting talent, including Sarah Chobot (Assistant Coach, USA Women’s National Team) and Kitt Ruiz (Assistant, USA U20 Women’s National Team), will be on the sidelines to identify and nurture future Eagles.

The Toast will be looking for redemption after their runner-up finish last year. Also returning to the Cup are the USA South Panthers, and the Capital, who earned their spot by winning the Plate competition in 2024. Capital defeated the South Selects 45-7 in the Plate Final, earning promotion to the top tier for the 2025 tournament.

The Plate bracket will also showcase exciting matchups. Longtime attendees and original partners, Mid-America, are back in the mix, and they will be joined by newcomers Eastern Penn (EPRU), Carolinas (CRGU), and the Southeast Reapers, a U24 side. While the Southwest and Pacific will not be in attendance this year, their future return is anticipated.

All matches will be live-streamed on the TRU YouTube channel, a result of the continued partnership with Nutmeg Sports Media. This ensures fans and scouts can follow every tackle, run, and score, whether they are in person or watching from afar. Each team will play two 80-minute matches over the course of the weekend.

As the tournament celebrates its tenth year, the 2025 Mary Graham All Stars promises to be a memorable event, highlighting the skill, dedication, and growing talent within women’s rugby. Stay tuned for more details and roster announcements as the event draws closer.

About Mary Graham All Stars

The Mary Graham All Stars tournament showcases the top women rugby players in the U.S., featuring Geographic Union (GU) All Star teams from across the country. It serves as a key scouting event for the USA Rugby Eagles Women’s National Team. The tournament has evolved into more than just an annual rugby event; it is a platform for championing women in rugby. We continue to prioritize the development of female referees and commentators, playing a pivotal role in the growth of women’s rugby.

The Mary Graham All Stars was established in 2014 as the Texas Rugby Union (TRU) All Star Challenge, filling the void left by the National All Stars Competition (NASCs) in 2011. In 2021, the event was renamed to honor TRU Hall of Fame member Mary Graham, who founded the first U23 Texas Rugby Union All Star team in 2001.

Competition Format

The competition is broken into three tiers:

  • The Cup features the top four teams.
  • The Plate includes the next four teams.
  • The Bowl includes the next four teams.

The winners of Saturday’s semifinals in each tier will move on to the Championship matches on Sunday. The Plate Championship winner earns promotion to the Cup bracket for the following year, while the loser of the 3rd/4th place Cup Consolation match is relegated to the Plate competition next year. This format ensures continued competition and development for all teams.

We have not yet filled all the slots for the Bowl competition, but we expect to have a full slate of 12 teams in the near future.
