The 2025 RRRC Championships are officially in the books—and what a day it was. Hosted by Dallas RFC at Lake Highlands Park, this year’s event brought together finalists from across the region for a full slate of championship matches. With clear skies, passionate fans, and nonstop rugby from 10:00 AM through the afternoon, it was everything we hoped for.
This year’s format shifted slightly, with only Men’s Division 2 and 3 opting to include semifinal rounds. Those took place the week prior, setting the stage for Saturday’s winners to punch their ticket to the Gulf Coast Super Regional or USA Club Nationals, depending on their division.
The action opened with a tight back-and-forth in the Men’s Division 4 Final, where the Woodlands came from behind to defeat defending champions Collin County 24-17.
In Women’s Division 3, Dallas RFC dominated from the start, powering to a 50-0 win over the OKC Mountain Boomers. We want to give a special thank you to OKC, who stepped up on short notice after BARC had to withdraw and made the trip despite being short-handed. They stuck in it and helped ensure the division could crown a champion—we’re grateful for their commitment to the competition.
In Women’s Division 2, Little Rock returned to the top with a strong 37-10 win over the San Antonio Riveters. With last year’s champions, the Dallas Quins, moving up to Division 1, the title was up for grabs—and Little Rock made the most of the opportunity to reclaim the WD2 crown.
Next up, the Austin Blacks D3 continued their undefeated season in overwhelming fashion, shutting out the Houston Arrows 86-0.
In Men’s Division 2, it was a rematch between the Austin Blacks and Dallas RFC, and it delivered. Despite a late surge from Dallas, Austin held on to win 40-32 and complete an unbeaten run through the division.
The Women’s Division 1 Final was one of the day’s most anticipated matches, with sHARCs edging out the Dallas Quins 27-22 in a match that lived up to the hype. It was their third meeting of the season, and this one crowned a new WD1 champion.
The final match of the day—a Men’s Division 1 Premiership league match—saw the Austin Blacks and Dallas RFC go head-to-head one last time. Austin had already secured the MD1 title earlier in the season, but still managed to close strong with a 43-33 win in a high-scoring showcase. The Austin Blacks MD1 will now represent the RRRC at the Gulf Coast Super Regional and face Miami, the top seed out of Florida.
All matches are available to re-watch on demand via the TRU YouTube Channel playlist.
Thank you to all the players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and fans who made the 2025 RRRC Championships a success.
What’s next: Our Women’s D1 Champions (sHARCs) advance directly to USA Club Nationals on May 16–18. All other champions—except MD4 and WD3, which are local-only competitions—will head to the Gulf Coast Super Regional on May 3–4 in Mandeville, LA.
