Our Red River Rugby Conference (RRRC) champions are back from a competitive weekend at the Gulf Coast Super Regional, hosted by True South Rugby at Pelican Park in Mandeville, LA. The event brought together top clubs from across the region, all fighting for a spot at the 2025 USA Club Rugby National Championships.
Men’s Division 3
The defending champions Austin Blacks D3 opened their title defense against the Columbia Rhinos but came up short in a 33-22 loss. Columbia’s pace and power proved tough to contain, ending the Blacks’ hopes of back-to-back titles.
Women’s Division 2
Little Rock, fresh off reclaiming the WD2 title in Dallas, faced reigning Gulf Coast champs Tampa Bay Krewe in a tightly contested semifinal. Despite a strong second-half push, Little Rock fell just shy in a 35-29 battle.
Men’s Division 2
The Austin Blacks D2 earned a gritty 26-12 win over Ft. Lauderdale in the semifinals, punching their ticket to the Gulf Coast Final. There, they met a surging Atlanta Old White side that proved too much on the day. The Blacks were held scoreless and dropped the final 50-0.
Men’s Division 1
Austin Blacks D1 entered the weekend as the RRRC’s top seed and closed out their campaign in commanding fashion, overpowering the Miami Tridents 69-10. With the win, they advance to Nationals.
We’re incredibly proud of all of our clubs for their performances and sportsmanship throughout the weekend. These results highlight the depth of competition in the RRRC and the strength of our pathway to Nationals.
