The Texas Rugby Union (TRU) is currently seeking hosts for all 2026 XV’s events, including:
- RRRC Championships – April 11th
- Gulf Coast Super Regionals- April 25th
- Nationals- May 15th to 17th
1). RRRC Championships: The TRU Union Championships are the pinnacle of competition in the Red River, featuring top-level play across all men’s and women’s divisions. In recent years, the event has consistently drawn hundreds of players, coaches, administrators, and fans from across the region. Visiting teams and supporters regularly book dozens of hotel room nights, bringing a measurable boost to the local economy. The tournament also generates strong digital engagement. Past livestreams have attracted more than 27,000 views, underscoring both the reach of the Championships and the growing interest in rugby within the TRU and across the USA.
To host, venues must have at least one regulation rugby field and access to a nearby warmup area.
Note: XV Semifinals are not part of this hosting request, as higher-seeded teams will host those matches on their home fields.
2). Gulf Coast Super Regionals: This championship brings together the top men’s and women’s teams from the Red River Rugby Conference and Southern Rugby Conference, along with select clubs from True South, the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida. Historically, participating teams and their supporters contribute to the local economy through hotel stays, dining, and travel—demonstrating the tangible impact rugby events can bring to host communities. The tournament also attracts a strong digital audience, with past broadcasts drawing tens of thousands of views on YouTube and other platforms, highlighting the sport’s growing reach and visibility. Hosting requires access to two full rugby fields. Event operations are managed by the True South Rugby Conference this year, with the tournament set to rotate back to the TRU next season.
3). XV’s Nationals: The XV’s Nationals stand as the pinnacle of club rugby in the U.S., bringing together elite men’s and women’s clubs from across the nation. Held this past year from May 16 to 18, 2025 at Kuntz Stadium in Indianapolis, the championship featured the top teams across five divisions (Men’s D1, D2, D3; Women’s D1, D2), competing in a packed weekend of high-level XVs rugby. Over three intense days, 15 full-length, 80-minute matches unfolded, showcasing the culmination of regional competition and the athletic excellence of grassroots rugby. Looking back at past tournaments, the event has consistently elevated club rugby’s visibility and engagement. While precise attendance and economic impact figures vary by year, host cities have typically seen increased hotel stays and local spending from teams, officials, fans, and families—reflecting the Nationals’ dual role as a rugby showcase and regional draw. Live digital viewership further amplifies the event’s reach: past broadcasts attracted tens of thousands of viewers, underlining the passionate and growing interest in club rugby across the country.
