Class Of 2026 HOF Nomination Instructions & Information
The Texas Rugby Union Hall of Fame recognizes the individuals who have made a lasting impact on rugby across our state. This honor celebrates those whose dedication, leadership, and achievement have helped grow and strengthen Texas rugby at every level.
Nominations are now open.
Submission deadline: March 15
We encourage clubs, teammates, colleagues, and members of the rugby community to nominate individuals whose contributions deserve to be formally recognized.
Eligibility & Evaluation Criteria
Successful candidates will substantially meet some or all of the following criteria:
Longevity of Service
Sustained involvement and meaningful contribution to Texas rugby over an extended period of time.
Diversity of Roles and Areas of Service
Impact across multiple areas of the game, such as player, coach, referee, administrator, board member, or volunteer.
Visibility and Recognition
Influence or achievement recognized at the regional, national, or international level.
Skill and Achievement as a Player
Demonstrated excellence and competitive accomplishment on the field.
Leadership
Proven leadership that advanced the sport, strengthened organizations, and positively influenced others.
Character
Difficult to define, yet unmistakable — integrity, sportsmanship, mentorship, and respect within the rugby community.
Submitting a Strong Nomination
Strong nominations go beyond a brief summary. The Hall of Fame selection process benefits from detailed submissions that clearly outline the nominee’s full impact on Texas rugby.
When preparing a nomination, consider including:
Length and scope of involvement
Roles served within clubs, the Union, or the broader rugby community
Notable accomplishments and milestones
Contributions that shaped teams, programs, or the development of the sport
The nominee’s lasting legacy and influence
Providing specific examples and context will help the selection committee fully understand why the nominee is deserving of Hall of Fame recognition.
