RRRC Semifinals Recap: Finals Matchups Locked for MD2 and MD3

The Red River Rugby Conference semifinals delivered a statement weekend across both Men’s Division 2 and Men’s Division 3, as four teams punched their ticket to the RRRC Finals on April 11. With dominant performances, late game drama, and playoff intensity throughout, the stage is now set for a championship showdown.

Men’s Division 3 Semifinals

Top-seeded Austin Blacks (1) made a powerful statement in their semifinal, defeating Bay Area Rugby Club (4) in commanding fashion, 83–7. From the opening whistle, Austin controlled possession and tempo, showcasing their attacking depth and finishing ability.

The second MD3 semifinal brought one of the most competitive matches of the weekend. OKC Legion (3) edged out Corpus Christi (2) in a tightly contested battle, securing a 32–29 victory. With momentum swings throughout, OKC held firm late to clinch their place in the final.

Men’s Division 2 Semifinals

In MD2, HURT (1) continued their strong season with a 52–29 win over Grand Prairie (4). HURT combined physical forward play with efficient execution in the backs to pull away and secure a convincing semifinal victory.

The final match of the weekend saw Austin Blacks (2) deliver another high-scoring performance, defeating San Antonio (3) 65–36. Austin’s ability to capitalize on opportunities and maintain attacking pressure proved decisive as they advanced to the championship.
