2026 Gulf Coast Super Regionals (GCSR) – Championship Weekend Preview
The stage is officially set for the 2026 Gulf Coast Super Regionals (GCSR), where the best clubs from the Red River, True South, Florida, and Carolinas unions converge for a two-day battle to crown regional champions across multiple divisions. Following a high-intensity RRRC Championship weekend, several Texas-based sides now advance to represent the Red River on one of the biggest stages in club rugby.
Across MD1, MD2, MD3, WD1, WD2, and WD3, the format is simple: win and move on. Semifinals take place Saturday, with champions decided Sunday morning and early afternoon.
Saturday – Semifinals & Finals Pathway
The weekend opens with WD3 semifinals at 9:00 AM, featuring RRRC champions Dallas RFC taking on True South’s Battleship in a highly anticipated matchup. On the opposite side of the bracket, Carolina Villains meet Florida Hammerheads, setting up the pathway to the WD3 Final later that morning.
At 11:00 AM, MD3 semifinals kick off. RRRC contenders Austin Blacks (RRRC #3 seed) face Brevard Old Red Eye (Florida #2), while Charlotte (Carolinas #1) meets New Orleans (True South). The winners will advance to the MD3 Final on Sunday at 10:00 AM.
The WD2 semifinals follow at 1:00 PM, where Little Rock Stormers (RRRC #3) take on Knoxville Minx (True South #2), while Tampa Krewe faces Charlotte in the other semifinal. Winners progress to the WD2 Final Sunday at 11:00 AM.
At 3:00 PM, MD2 semifinals highlight one of the weekend’s key matchups, with HURT (RRRC #2) set to face Nashville (True South #3). On the other side, Atlanta Old White meets Ft. Lauderdale Knights. The MD2 Final is scheduled for Sunday at 12:00 PM.
The day concludes with the premier division finals at 5:00 PM:
- MD1 Final: Austin Blacks (RRRC #1) vs Dallas RFC (RRRC #2)
- WD1 Final: Life University vs sHARCs
All RRRC matchups in MD1 and WD1 guarantee a Red River presence at the top of the regional game.
Sunday – Championship Sunday
Sunday is all about hardware.
The finals schedule begins at 9:00 AM with the WD3 Championship, followed by the MD3 Final at 10:00 AM. WD2 will be decided at 11:00 AM, and the weekend concludes with the MD2 Final at 12:00 PM.
Every match carries championship stakes, with regional titles on the line and national pathways beginning to take shape.
RRRC Teams Advancing to GCSR
Following the RRRC Championships, multiple Texas clubs arrive at GCSR carrying momentum and momentum alone won’t be enough.
MD3: Austin Blacks
WD3: Dallas RFC
WD2: Little Rock Stormers
MD2: HURT
Each side now faces a new test—competing against the top clubs from Florida, Carolinas, and True South for regional supremacy.
What’s at Stake
GCSR is more than a tournament weekend. It’s a proving ground. Championship form meets championship pressure, and only one team in each division walks away with the title.
For RRRC clubs, the mission is clear: carry momentum forward, elevate performance, and turn regional success into Gulf Coast dominance.
The road continues this weekend.
