Now Accepting Host Applications for the 2027 XV’s RRRC Championships
The Texas Rugby Union (TRU) is seeking a host for the 2027 XV’s RRRC Championships, taking place on Saturday, April 17, 2027. If your club, city, or venue is ready to welcome the best rugby in the Red River region, we want to hear from you.
The Pinnacle of Red River Rugby
The TRU Union Championships are the highest level of competition in the Red River, bringing together top teams across all men’s and women’s divisions for one of the biggest weekends on the regional rugby calendar.
The event consistently draws hundreds of players, coaches, administrators, and fans from across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Visiting teams and supporters regularly book dozens of hotel room nights, making a measurable impact on the host community’s local economy.
The Championships reach well beyond the sideline, too. Past livestreams have attracted more than 27,000 views, a clear sign of the event’s reach and the growing interest in rugby throughout the TRU and across the USA. Hosting puts your venue and your community in front of that audience.
Venue Requirements
To be considered, a venue must have at least two regulation rugby fields and access to a nearby warmup area.
Please note that the XV Semifinals are not part of this hosting request. Higher-seeded teams will host those matches on their home fields.
What It Means to Host a Championship Event
Hosting a TRU Championship is a commitment to delivering a safe, professional, and memorable experience for every team and fan who attends. As a host:
- You will work alongside TRU administrators to showcase a safe and professional event.
- All players, coaches, and participants are covered under USA Rugby Insurance.
- You will ensure that all TRU and USA Rugby Safety Guidelines are followed throughout the event.
Minimum Host Requirements
Because the RRRC covers a large geographic area, travel access is an important factor. All applicants must be able to meet the following requirements:
- A nearby airport that reasonably serves teams traveling from across the RRRC
- Compliance with all TRU and USA Rugby safety requirements and guidelines
- Confirmation that all participating clubs and participants are registered with USA Rugby
- Reservations, permission, and any necessary permits from local authorities for field and venue use
- Competition conducted under the current rules specified in the applicable RRRC and USA Rugby rule book or World Rugby laws
- Full responsibility for event management, including supervision of employees and volunteers and maintenance of field conditions
- Confirmation from the park, city, or venue owner that no construction or major events are planned in the lead up to the Championships
Key Dates
- October 10, 2026, 11:59 PM: Application deadline
- October 22, 2026: Host selection
- October 31, 2026: Finalized hosts announced on the TRU website
How to Apply
Clubs, cities, and venues interested in hosting the 2027 XV’s RRRC Championships must complete the host application form. Be sure to review the venue and minimum host requirements above before submitting. Applications close on October 10, 2026 at 11:59 PM, and late submissions will not be considered.
