Aug 24, SUNDAY COURSE – Register by Monday, August 11 to receive all the benefits. Shirts and lunch will not be included for anyone registering after that date, as we need to place the order in advance. Registration officially closes Tuesday, August 19.
This is for individuals who wish to referee forms of rugby that involve tackling. Minimum age 13.
Registration is limited to one participant per entry to ensure we have accurate attendance information. If you are signing up for someone other than yourself, please email the participant’s full name and registered course to traci@texasrugbyunion.com.
Description
What it is: A hands-on course that blends classroom learning with on-field application. You’ll cover key aspects of Law knowledge and spend time practicing what you’ve learned out on the pitch. This is an in-person course and runs for approximately eight hours.
Pre-Course Work: The course requires you complete several online courses before attending. After completion, the resulting PDF certificates must be uploaded to USA Rugby’s Learning Center before certification will be granted. You will not be able to obtain qualification without completing these steps:
- Confirm your RX Learning Account
- Once confirmed USAR will add you into the registration for the course and send you further details about the course
- SafeSport (required annually)
- Rugby Safety Basics
Before refereeing, you will also need to be complete a background check (every 2 years). The background check will be auto-generated once you register as a coach in RX and can take 2-3 weeks to return.

Registration Details
Register for just $110 and receive a complimentary conference shirt and a ticket to the Friday night Welcome Social. Optional lunch is available for $25, but if you opt out, please plan to pack a lunch as there may not be time to buy one.
