TRU 55th Anniversary Weekend — Saturday Courses & AGM

Join the Texas Rugby Union for a day built around growing your club, sharpening your operations, and celebrating 55 years of Texas rugby. This package is free — two hands-on courses, a seat at the TRU Annual General Meeting, and access to the weekend’s social events, all at no cost.

Included in this package:

1. Digitizing Your Club: Leveraging AI, Marketing & Community Connections
Bring your club into the digital age. Learn how to put emerging AI tools, digital strategy, and modern marketing to work — creating content faster, communicating better, recruiting more effectively, and building the local partnerships that fuel sustainable growth. Coaches, administrators, and volunteers will leave with practical strategies to save volunteer time, sharpen their online presence, and strengthen sponsorship opportunities they can implement immediately.

2. Recruitment & Retention for Club Growth
Build a club that grows and lasts. This session gives clubs proven systems for engaging their community, developing local talent, and keeping players coming back season after season — the foundation and recruiting committee you’ll want before the Olympic surge of new interest arrives. Presented by Haley Hunter and Maggie Sloan of Dallas RFC, whose focus on recruiting and retention has driven sustainable growth on and off the pitch, including three TOLA titles and two TRU WD3 15s championships.

3. TRU Annual General Meeting
The union’s yearly meeting to review the season, set direction, and conduct official business. Details to come.
A dedicated lunch break is built into the day, with plenty of great dining options nearby around the hotel.

  • Note: The host hotel offers a complimentary evening reception with drinks and snacks for all guests booked in our room block. If you stay elsewhere, the welcome social will function as a cash bar.

Registration deadlines:
Register by Sunday, Aug. 14 to receive all benefits. Coins will not be included for anyone registering after that date, as the order must be placed in advance. Registration officially closes Friday, Aug. 21.

Registration is limited to one participant per entry so we can keep accurate attendance counts. If you’re registering someone other than yourself, please email the participant’s full name and registered course to traci@texasrugbyunion.com
