The TRU is seeking hosts for all upcoming events in 2024, including:
- RRRC Championships – April 20-21
- Gulf Coast Super Regionals – May 4-5
- RRRC 7s Series – Summer
- TOLA 7s Series – Summer
- Mary Graham All Stars – December 7-8
Additionally, the USA Club Rugby Association, Inc. is inviting hosts for the USA Club National Rugby Championships in both 2024 and 2025. You can find more details here.
RRRC Championships:
Our Union Championships feature action across all men’s and women’s divisions. In 2023, the event attracted approximately 200 players, coaches, supporters, and administrators to Austin, TX. Impressively, it also resulted in about 75 hotel room nights being booked by the teams alone, emphasizing the economic impact of this tournament. Moreover, the event’s YouTube livestream garnered over 27,000 views, a testament to the growing popularity of rugby in the TRU and the USA. To host this event, a minimum of two rugby fields is required, guaranteeing a spectacular showcase of the sport.
Gulf Coast Super Regionals:
Our Gulf Coast Super Regional event brings together qualified men’s and women’s teams from the Red River Rugby Conference and Southern Rugby Conference, including True South, Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida. Similar to the RRRC Championships, this event also generated approximately 50 hotel room nights booked by the teams alone, highlighting the economic impact. The YouTube livestream of the event gained over 25,000 views, showcasing the growing popularity of rugby in the United States. Hosting this event also requires a minimum of two rugby fields.
7s Series:
Our summer 7s Series events, including competitive (RRRC) and social (TOLA), bring together 30+ teams across men and women to crown two Champions. Generally, the RRRC Series has 3 stops, and we are looking for hosts. TOLA tournament hosts are also being accepted at this time.
Mary Graham All Stars:
This women’s All Star event brings select teams together in Texas from all over the country. Similar to our other events, it generated around 75 hotel room nights booked by the teams and had over 12,000 YouTube livestream views. Hosting this event requires a minimum of one rugby field.
Application Submission
Interested parties should submit applications by November 1, and hosts will be selected by November 15.
Hosts will be finalized by December 1, and the announcement will be posted on the TRU website.
What does it mean to host a Championship event?
- Hosts and administrators are committed to showcasing a safe and professional event.
- All players, coaches, and participants are covered under USA Rugby Insurance.
- Event hosts ensure that all TRU & USA Rugby Safety Guidelines are followed.
Minimum Event Host Requirements:
- Ensure that the event complies with all TRU & USA Rugby safety requirements and guidelines.
- Confirm that all participating clubs and participants are registered with USA Rugby.
- Reserve or obtain permission and permits from local authorities for field and venue usage.
- Conduct the event following current competitive rules specified in the applicable RRRC & USA Rugby rule book or World Rugby rules.
- Accept full responsibility for event management, including supervision of employees and volunteers.
