Derek Summers is a highly respected rugby referee with extensive experience and expertise in referee career development. With a career spanning over a decade, Derek has officiated at every major level in North America, including being a Major League Rugby Assistant Referee and Television Match Official. He is also associated with the Texas Rugby Referee Association. Through his journey as a referee, Derek has gained valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by referees. He has a comprehensive understanding of the various pathways, certifications, and development programs available to referees, making him a valuable resource for aspiring referees looking to navigate their way to success.

Scott Green

Major League Rugby Referee and TMO

Scott Green is an amateur rugby player with an impressive 20-year career in the sport. He has competed at the highest level, notably as a member of the Austin Blacks team that reached the USA Rugby D1 Men’s Championship Final in the 2007/2008 season. Scott’s passion for rugby extends beyond playing, as he has been a dedicated Texas Rugby Referee since 2010. With his leadership and commitment, he served as the Vice/Chairman of the Texas Rugby Referee from 2015 to 2019, successfully professionalizing the organization. Recognized for his skills and expertise, Scott was appointed to the USA Rugby National Panel of Referees in 2013. He has officiated in over 60 professional matches, including the prestigious MLR Final in 2018 and 2019, as well as the MLR Semi-Finals in 2019 and 2022, further contributing to the growth and development of rugby.

Jamie McGregor

USA Rugby Training & Education Director

Jamie is a highly experienced and dedicated rugby referee with a remarkable career spanning more than two decades. Since 1996, Jamie has honed his officiating skills, acquiring invaluable knowledge and expertise in the field. As the Community Rugby Referee Manager for Rugby Australia, Jamie has been instrumental in nurturing and managing the development of referees at the grassroots level, ensuring a strong foundation for the sport. Jamie’s commitment to elevating the standards of officiating led to the prestigious role of World Rugby Master Trainer, where he contributes to the training and mentorship of referees on a global scale. Currently serving as the T&E Director for USA Rugby, Jamie continues to enhance the education and development of referees in the United States, further solidifying his passion for the growth and success of the sport. With his extensive involvement and unwavering pursuit of excellence, Jamie remains a key figure in advancing the world of rugby officiating.
