Course Spotlights: Referee & First Aid in Rugby | TRU Summit

The Texas Rugby Union is holding our fifth annual Regional Development Summit on August 23-25 in Allen, TX. We’ll be returning to the Courtyard Dallas Allen at the John Q. Hammons Center where we held our first ever Summit.

This year we’re offering multiple tracks in coaching, match officiating, medical, administration and strength & conditioning. We’ve also listened to your feedback and the 1-day courses will be offered on multiple days. This allows you to sign up for multiple events in one weekend!

Rebekkah plays for the San Antonio Riveters and also referees in her off-time. Join Rebekkah as a dual track referee and player by taking the Level 1 Match Official Course (available on Saturday, Aug 24 or Sunday, Aug 25).

Still playing? Become a referee & dual track!

World Rugby First Aid in Rugby Course

Injuries are a part of any contact sport. Many injuries can often be improved by very simple first aid skills from bystanders until emergency help arrives. Such bystanders may be parents, club officials, coaches, referees or even other players. Take this course on Saturday, Aug 24 or Sunday, Aug 25.

Be part of the MLR

Match officials can be part of the MLR as part of the sideline crew or even as Assistant Referees! It all starts by taking the Level 1 Match Official Course (available on Saturday, Aug 24 or Sunday, Aug 25).

We wanted to highlight the above two courses because our game needs more referees and we want to make sure that all our participants are safe!

The TRU Summit Conference on the Game is returning to Allen, TX this year and will be August 23-25.

We’ll start the weekend off with a Welcome Social on Friday evening, day one of courses on Saturday, a Hall of Fame Banquet that evening and we’ll finish up with more courses on Sunday.

This year we’ve expanded our offering with multiple tracks in coaching, match officiating, medical, administration and strength & conditioning. We’ve also listened to your feedback and the 1-day courses will be offered on multiple days. This allows you to sign up for multiple events in one weekend!

This event is for rugby folk of all levels including adults, college, high school, youth, men, women, fans, coaches, referees, players and really anyone that loves rugby. Join us for an entire weekend full of learning, development, networking and socializing.

We urge you to register quickly as courses fill up every year! We will have a waiting list but we’d urge you to plan your weekend quickly.
