USA Rugby Club 7s National Championship

7s Registration Deadline – July 1, 2023

The USA Club Rugby sevens deadline is approaching. Players must be registered ‘to the club,’ and players from overseas must be residing in the United States, by July 1, 2023, in order to be eligible for the USA Club Rugby Sevens National Championships.

The club sevens registration deadline applies to players who are:

  • Currently registered with a club that is not the club or sevens-only team they plan to play with for the 2022-23 sevens competitive season.
  • Currently registered with a college team but plan to play with a senior club for the 2022-23 sevens competitive season.
  • Not yet registered with USA Rugby.

An “At Large” registration is insufficient for eligibility for the USA Club Rugby Sevens National Tournament and the Qualifying Tournaments. Players must be registered directly to the club or sevens-only team.

Players from overseas must be residing in the United States by July 1 AND have an approved International Clearance from their home national rugby Union (See Regulation 2.5-(a)).

Transfer requests initiated in the Rugby Explorer/USA Rugby Membership Database by July 1, 2023, will be considered to have met the deadline.

One key change. Regulation 5.1-(b). Clubs may carry an Event Roster of 13 eligible players (using no more than 12 players on any game roster).

To Transfer (Registration Clearance):

  1. Go into your membership page in RX, try to register with the new club/sevens-only team.The system will block the request and prompt you to submit a transfer request.
  2. This will send a notification to your home club and local union, informing each of your intent to transfer.
  3. If no outstanding financial or disciplinary issues, the home club and local union will approve the transfer.
  4. Once approved for the transfer, you will receive an email notification to complete the transfer. You must go back to your account and register with the new club.
