2023 RRRC Competitions Committee – Nominees & Voting

The nomination period for the RRRC Competitions Committee has now concluded, resulting in a total of four contested seats this year. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who have dedicated their time and effort to serve, and we respect their decision to step down. We invite you to take a moment to review the list of nominees:

  • *John Dale has been nominated once again and has graciously accepted the nomination. While there were other individuals nominated, they have all declined their nominations.

Men’s D2

Women’s

Men’s D3

  • Jeff Wegman is the exclusive nominee, and as a result, will be taking this seat.

Elected At-Large

*Incumbent

Voting Rules

A quorum constitutes 2/3 of eligible voters. A candidate must secure over 50% of the votes to attain victory. In the event of a tie, the Competitions Chair will arbitrate the situation, following the guidelines outlined in the Committee Terms of Reference.

Please bear in mind that each club is entitled to a single vote, which can be cast solely in the election pertaining to their highest division. For instance, the Austin Blacks can exclusively participate in the Men’s D1 election, notwithstanding their involvement in Men’s Division 2 and 3 teams. The sole exception is that all clubs have the ability to vote for the Elected At Large position.

Forum @ AGM

During the upcoming AGM on Saturday, a specific timeframe will be allocated for each candidate to address the TRU Membership present. TRU Members, Club Representatives, and Board Members are invited and encouraged to pose questions to the candidates, who are expected to provide succinct yet comprehensive responses. To ensure a structured and productive discussion, this segment will be overseen by current TRU Board members, facilitating an organized and efficient use of time.

Voting Collection & Confirmation:

After the TRU AGM, Wendy Young, TRU admin, will distribute a digital ballot to the Divisional Club Presidents currently listed on our TRU Contacts sheet. David McPhail, Competitions Chair, will provide support and verify the votes.

We are aware that many of you have recently elected new officers. This is a great chance to refresh and update your Club’s contacts with the TRU using our Team Contact Update form.
